scarves galore!

I've been a busy little bee lately! I've got some big knitting plans for 2011 and so far I think I'm making a good dent in my goals. I've finished one project thus far and started working on the second.

My first project was a lace scarf like the one shown below. The one below was my mother-in-laws Christmas gift.

The one I just finished (and am currently blocking) is made from Valley Yarns Prescott. It is a super fine Alpaca and knits up very nice. I used #7 needles (I think?). When I started I knitted about 5 or 6 rows on 3 different sizes on needles. Way too big, too small, too big again. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I used the few hanks that I had left. I had just enough to make the scarf as long as I wanted it to be.
Now it's blocking on my make-shift blocking table. I'm using blocking mats stretched across a drying rack and a counter in my kitchen. I have cracker boxes hold up one of the mats so its the same height as the rack. I'm sure my husband loves it. Oh the joys of living in a small space!

Up next for me is another scarf. For this little guy here, I'm working with knit picks gloss lace in sterling  and #6 needles. I'm loving this pattern so far! I'm only about 10% finished but I love that it's in blocks of 20 rows.
Knit 20 rows, take the dog for a walk.
Knit 20 rows, do the dishes.
Knit 20 rows, clean the bathroom.
Knit 20 rows, eat lunch.
Knit 20 rows, blog.

Ok well, only the first one has been accomplished so far. It isn't even 10 o'clock yet! Leave me alone... Geez. I feel like it'll be a very productive day this way.

In other news, I'm waiting on some yarn to arrive from Supersock store from their January sale. I'm really hoping today is the day! It's been so long I've forgotten what I've ordered. It hasn't been THAT long, I placed my order on the 2nd. It was shipped on the 11th with 4-7 days shipping. I'm getting antsy  for it arrive. Patience is not my strong suit. We'll see when the mail gets here. Wait is there mail today? I sure hope so...
I'll post progress photos of my work.

Oh yeah, Happy New Year! by now most of us have given up on our resolutions, for the most part I'm still going strong, I hope you are too!

EDIT: No mail today. WAH!
